Treatment recommendation

• For patients achieving transfusion independence and a reasonable hemoglobin with MDS therapies, consider serial phlebotomy.
  • Remove 250–500cc whole blood every 2–4 weeks as tolerated.
  • Note that phlebotomy will not reduce NTBI quickly.
